Home Care Package (HCP) is now Support at Home

Understanding the new Support at Home Program

From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government is introducing the new Support at Home program, a significant change designed to make accessing in-home aged care simpler, more flexible, and truly responsive to your unique needs.

This program will replace the existing Home Care Package (HCP) Program and the Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme.

We’re proud to share that ACH Group Home Support Worker Emily Green was featured in News Limited Career One lift-out, shining a spotlight on the incredible impact home support workers make in the life of older South Australians. 🤩

Emily got her Certificate Three in Individual Support and Aged Care while still at high school and it has provided a rewarding, flexible and well-paying career while she juggles a Bachelor of Finance at University SA. 🎓

“I’ve been a support worker at ACH Group for almost two years now,” she said.

“I’m so glad I got my qualifications during high school because support work has given me a job that I really like coupled with the flexibility to fit in with university.”

“It has been so much better and more rewarding than most typical ‘uni’ jobs.” 🙌

Emily supports older people with everyday tasks such as personal care, shopping and technology support — practical assistance that makes it easier for customers to continue living well at home and stay connected to the things that matter to them.

Emily supports older people to live independently by building relationships and providing practical, day-to-day support ranging from personal care and shopping to technology help. 🤝
