How to access help at home?

There are a number of ways to access help at home

You may choose to apply for government-subsidised services, in which case you are required to undergo an assessment.

Alternatively, you may choose to pay privately and begin receiving services immediately.

Government-subsidised services have broad eligibility criteria and an assessment process to help ensure everyone receives the care and support they need.

To access government-subsidised aged care support you need to register through My Aged Care or calling 1800 200 422. Contact us to assist you and help you navigate through this process, including lodging a referral to My Aged Care on your behalf.

How do I get assessed?

You will be asked to participate in an initial telephone screening by My Aged Care to determine the level of care that is appropriate.

An ‘entry level’ program which gives you access to basic support services such as help around the house, respite, allied health, access to social activities and more.

Eligibility is assessed by the Regional Assessment Service (RAS) who may conduct a face to face assessment before recommending services funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program

For people whose care needs are more complex, a Home Care Package gives you access to ‘package’ of services. There are four levels of packages to meet your individual needs. An assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) will be conducted for referral to appropriate services. Our friendly staff can help you navigate the assessment process.

ACH Group offers a customer funded option where you can pay privately for support and services if you are not eligible for government assistance, don’t want to wait or go through the government assessment. You may also like to ‘top up’ your government subsidised services.
