Meet Valmai Janssan, the 90-year-old artist behind our SALA 2026 poster whose hands never stop creating 🖌️🖼️

Val’s abstract acrylic painting ‘Conchita’ has been chosen from hundreds of entries as the hero image for ACH Group’s upcoming SALA exhibitions; and will soon be displayed across metropolitan Adelaide.

From tapestries, placemats and acrylics to birthday cards, cross stitch and even painted wheelie bins, Val simply loves making things.

“I just get lost in art,” she said.

Val has been attending ACH Group art groups for just over 12 months, where art lead Ann Whitby says she arrives each week with something new.
