September 2023 – Healthia Official Opening
History was made at the official opening of Healthia in September 2023 and here are some of the unforgettable highlights from the celebration:
- Robert Taylor kicked things off with a mesmerising Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Kaurna Country Ceremony.
- Charlie and Chloe, two talented students from Playford International College, entertained guests with their musical talents as they strolled down the walkway.
- We were honoured to hear inspiring speeches from Healthia’s partners and dignitaries.
- Marian, a resident of Healthia, shared her heartwarming experience of calling Healthia her new home.
- ACH Group Chair Mary Patetsos and Minister for Health and Wellbeing Chris Picton MP unveiled the official plaque, commemorating the historic event.
- We were captivated by the unveiling of the artwork ‘Leap into Life’ by South Australian artist Andrew Baines. It beautifully portrays the endless possibilities and new opportunities that come with ageing.
- Afternoon tea and tours of Stringybark House within the residential care home and the University of South Australia Health Clinic made for a delightful conclusion to the day.

Healthia is ACH Group’s first purpose-built small household care home. Healthia’s village-like setting features eight single-story houses, each home to 12 residents.
At the heart of each home is a light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining and living space; it’s a welcoming area for residents to relax and spend time with family and friends. Private bedrooms with ensuite, lead to landscaped gardens shared by the household.
