Where variety meets connection
For Cassie, aged care works
Cassie Piro said it is hard to find a better job than one where everyone is happy to see you and appreciates the work you do.
For the past three years, the ACH Group Occupational Therapist has been working with older South Australians in their homes to support regaining or developing skills for everyday tasks, promoting independence and well-being.
Cassie works with people who have had strokes, falls or have just been discharged from hospital and require ongoing rehabilitation.
“Everything I do is based on the goals of the person I am supporting,” she said.
“It is about working with that person to identify what is important to them and how I can support them to achieve those goals.
“It is extremely rewarding supporting ACH Group customers every week to achieve positive health outcomes, and knowing your support has made a difference.”
Cassie said working as a community Occupational Therapist with ACH Group struck that perfect balance between variety and connection.
“Half my time is on the road getting to meet people and their families in their homes, and the rest of my time is spent working closely with my colleagues – a tight-knit group of allied health professionals supporting each other to provide the highest quality care to customers,” she said.
“I’ve been an OT for more than 10 years now and I love my job here at ACH Group.”
