Helping you trust the messages you receive from ACH Group
From 1 July 2026, new rules require businesses and organisations to register their SMS sender ID (the name shown instead of a phone number at the top of a text message, such as “AusPost” or “myGov”).
ACH Group has registered its sender ID. This means any SMS you receive from us will show ACH Group as the sender.
What does this mean for you?
You don’t need to do anything. If you receive a message showing “unverified”, it means the sender ID has not been registered. An “unverified” message is not always a scam, but it’s important to be cautious.
If you’re unsure, avoid clicking on links or sharing personal information, and contact us directly to confirm the message.
FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions
What is a sender ID?
A sender ID is the branded name shown at the top of a text message instead of a phone number. For example, ‘ACH Group’ or ‘AusPost’.
How do I know if a message is from ACH Group?
Our Sender ID has been registered, so our messages will show ACH Group as the sender.
Do I need to do anything?
No. There is nothing you need to do.
What about messages from individual employees of ACH Group?
Messages sent from mobile phone numbers (rather than a sender ID) are not affected by these rules. As always, treat messages from unknown numbers with caution.
If you’re in doubt: don’t click on links or give personal details. You can contact us to check.
I have received an unverified message from ACH Group. What do I do?
“Unverified” means the sender ID has not been registered. This doesn’t always mean the message is a scam, but you should be cautious. Avoid clicking links or sharing personal information and contact us if you’re unsure.
Do these changes apply to messages apps like WhatsApp, iMessage and Facebook Messenger?
No, the new rules only apply to text messages (SMS/MMS). They do not apply to messaging apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage and Facebook Messenger. You may still receive scam messages on these kinds of messaging apps, even if the sender name looks familiar. Check these messages carefully.
