What can 35,000 tiny beads become? In Jean Kelly’s hands, a beautiful landscape. 💎

While Jean has always enjoyed art, particularly working with acrylics, she discovered diamond painting through an ACH Group art group.

“It is the best thing about the class, how many different forms of artwork you are exposed to,” she said.

Diamond painting involves carefully placing thousands of colourful beads onto a canvas, gradually bringing an image to life. For Jean, the process is both creative and calming.

“You just get into a rhythm and start to zone out. It is almost like meditation,” she said.

“The problem is if you get too in the zone and knock one of the containers off the bench, it is a chore to find all the beads again,” she laughed from experience.

Jean is one of more than 90 artists exhibiting as part of ACH Group's SALA 2026 exhibition, Seasons of Life. Her story is a wonderful reminder of the joy that can come from discovering something new and continuing to explore your creativity.
