Just days away from her 73rd birthday, Yvonne Smuts says her weekly workouts at ACH Group’s Health Studio Rostrevor have helped her stay active and keep doing the things she loves.

Yvonne said the routine and fitness benefits has kept her able to do regular hikes at Morialta National Park and to keep going to her social fixtures at Burragah Badminton Club.

Yvonne was the guest of honour at Health Studio Rostrevor’s official first anniversary event.

“Health Studio Rostrevor is just across the road from me, I really do go for the fitness, and I find the weekly routine and workout has had a big impact on my overall health,” she said.

“Your health is a gift and through Health Studio Rostrevor I’ve been able to maintain it.”

Leading South Australian not-for-profit aged care provider ACH Group is celebrating the first anniversary of its $5 million Health Studio Rostrevor, marking a year of growth and strengthened health outcomes for older South Australians.

Opened in 2024, Health Studio Rostrevor is a key part of ACH Group’s Strengthened Connected Communities strategy – by providing a purpose-built to support older people to stay active, independent, and engaged, the studio offers a welcoming space for exercise, allied health services, and social connection.

Since opening its doors 12 months ago, Health Studio Rostrevor has seen significant interest amongst the community with memberships increasing by one-third, customer use of its state-of-the-art HUR equipment almost double, and the delivery of more than 2,400 clinic appointments.

The Studio has also seen strong demand for in-home services that are coordinated on-site by ACH Group’s community team.

ACH Group Chief Executive Officer, Linda Feldt, said the success of Health Studio Rostrevor reflects the growing importance of wellness-focused spaces for older South Australians.
“In just twelve months, we’ve seen the Rostrevor community embrace this space — not only as a place to exercise, but as a place to connect, set personal goals, and be supported by our experienced team,” Ms Feldt said.

“Our Health Studios are designed to offer much more than a gym experience. They are inclusive health and wellbeing hubs that support older people to live a good life, stay independent, and remain actively engaged in their community. It’s wonderful to see so many people taking proactive steps to live well and stay connected.”

Health Studio Rostrevor is equipped with HUR SmartTouch equipment, specifically designed to support ageing bodies through safe, progressive resistance training. Customers are provided with personalised programs that track progress in real time, allowing for a tailored approach to fitness and rehabilitation.

Alongside the gym, the studio offers a wide range of allied health services including Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Dietetics, and Remedial Massage, as well as group programs such as circuit training, tai chi, balance, and strength classes.

The one-year celebration was marked with a community morning tea attended by customers and staff. Health Studio Rostrevor complements ACH Group’s two other health studios at Glenelg and Christie Downs and forms an important part of ACH Group’s broader Shaping tomorrow, together strategy—a commitment to building connected, healthy communities for older people in South Australia.
