Toni lands a dream career at ACH Group
For Toni, aged care works
Toni said within five minutes of doing a student placement at ACH Group’s Healthia Residential Care Home she knew that aged care wasn’t what she was expecting.
“Aged care is so different to what many people picture or imagine,” she said.
“Healthia is light, it is open, there are people in the café and in the homes with family and friends and there is a wonderful feeling of community.
“In my job I get to get to really know the person and make a difference every day. I have learnt so much on personal care and how I can support people to be independent, happy and well.”
Toni completed an eight-week placement with ACH Group in the final year of her nursing degree with UniSA in late 2024.
In February, she secured permanent employment with ACH Group at Healthia as a Registered Nurse.
“It has been a busy start to my career, but I know I will be doing this work for the rest of my life,” she said.
“Being with the residents is the best part of my day and the clinical and care team are wonderful, the work is challenging and rewarding, and I love that I leave work every day feeling good.”
