Support Worker – Home Care & Community
Location: Adelaide SA
What you’ll do:
- Provide personalised support to older individuals in accordance with their unique needs and preferences.
Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, domestic tasks and activity support. - Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and community engagement.
- Follow and contribute to the customer’s care plan.
- Maintain and ensure completion of documentation, while maintaining confidentiality.
Good news:
You will be reimbursed the kilometres travelled as per the SCHCADS Award rate, plus you will be paid for the time you travel between customers after your first customer visit, until your last!
To support your success:
Your first day will be practical training with some of your colleagues. From there, your Team Leader will support you getting to know the tools you require to perform your role, such as the mobile phone you will be issued. You will also be given buddy shifts with an experienced Support Worker.
You will have your Team Leader and other supporting areas such as the Scheduling Team and Customer Service Team, only a phone call away to assist your success in the role.
About You!
You are a talented and passionate Support Worker. You want to make the most of your expertise, do what you do best and thrive on the challenge of providing our customers with quality care. Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- A passion for supporting choice and independence.
- High level customer service experience.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to support the well-being of customers.
- Willingness to travel between customers’ homes and attend site base training.
- Administrative and computer skills.
- Ability to operate a smart phone.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Certificate including CPR.
- A current Police Check suitable for working as a Support Worker in Aged Care (less than 12 months old).
- A current Drivers Licence and access to own vehicle.
