New Winter Menu is now available at ACH Group Residential Care Homes

ACH Group’s new Winter Menu is the result of engagement roadshows, chef visits, and collaboration with a dietitian – all of which contributed to the development of the recipes.

The career chef, and resident at Healthia’s Myrtle House, was among the first ACH Group residents to get his hands on the new Winter Menu.

John, who spent his professional career in restaurants and kitchens, including 19 years in the aged care sector, said food was something ACH Group excelled at.

“I know firsthand the challenges associated with preparing a menu for hundreds of different older people who may have different tastes, nutritional requirements and even cultural needs,” he said.

“Personally, I’ve always enjoyed the food here at Healthia and even today’s afternoon tea – the cake was light and fluffy and tasty, just perfect.

“The seasonal change in menu is great because it provides that variety that you need to stay excited when mealtime rolls around.”

From hearty soups to succulent roasts, the 2025 Winter Menu has been developed in partnerships with residents to make sure the food is nourishing for the body and soul.

ACH Group’s Operations Manager for Central Kitchen and Catering and Hospitality Services Amy White said an unprecedented effort had gone into developing this year’s Winter Menu.

Amy said catering staff had delivered a roadshow at each of ACH Group’s homes, chefs had conducted visits to speak to residents about the food and dietitian input had been sought to ensure meals were both tasty and nutritious.

Feedback from residents played a key part in the development of the Winter Menu.

“Residents at Highercombe actually developed and contributed their own menu item which we’ve incorporated into the menu,” Amy said.

“We also had residents request pastries from a home-grown bakery so we are delighted that we’ve been able to partner with Dulwich Bakery for a meal as well.

“These are just a couple of examples of the feedback that we’ve taken from the residents and incorporated into our mealtime offering.”

The Winter Menu came into effect from Monday 12 May and new hardcopy picture menus have been delivered hot off the press to all ACH Group homes.
