Dementia friendly swimming – can you help?

Are you or someone in your family living with dementia? ACH Group has been awarded funding from Dementia Australia to develop dementia friendly swimming experiences and environments.

The project is set to include the development of fact sheets for swimming pool venues, swimming coaches, people living with dementia and their families.

ACH Group Co-Design Manager Fiona Telford-Sharp says ACH Group is looking for people who would like to get involved by joining the Advisory Group.

“If you or one of your family members is living with dementia, why not put your hand up to be part of the reference group guiding the activities of the project?” she says. “We need people to take part in consultations or surveys, join onsite pool audits, help evaluate the project and appear in a Dementia Australia video.

“We are specifically seeking people for interviews and filming on August 9 and 10.”
